M. R. Radha was born on 14th April 1907 in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. His original name was Madras Rajagopala Radhakrishnan Naidu. He has a small quarrel with his mother in his young age and so left his home. He worked his way to become a famous theatre artist and had made more than 5000 stage shows. He started participating in the stage shows at the age of ten and later many dramas were written exclusively for him. His stage play named Ratha Kanneer made him very famous. During his tenure as an actor, he had done both villain roles and comedian roles.He had two wives and M.R.R. Vasu, M.R. Radha Rajoo, M. Ganavalli, Radha Ravi, Rashia, Rani and Rathe are his children through his first wife and Raadhika Sarathkumar and Nirosha are his daughters through his second wife. His wife’s name was M. R. Dhanalakshmi. He also acted in some devotional movies like Velum Mayilum Thunai during the last years of his career. He actively participated in the Dravidian movement during his times. He was affected by jaundice and died due to that on 17th September 1979 at the age of 72 in his house in Tiruchirappalli. Nearly three hundred thousand people attended his funeral procession.
