Abinaya was born to a minor film artist Anand and his wife Hemalatha. From her birth itself she had hearing and speech impairments even then she has been acting in various advertisements since her childhood. Since her adolescence, Abhinaya had mastered sign language and lip reading in English. She had also undergone a risky operation (Cochlear Implantation) that had helped her hear with the help of a machine. Her interest towards both modelling and acting at a very young age was well noticed and encouraged by her father.
She acted in various Television programs and advertisements which eventually resulted in superior facial expressions. Abhinaya's dancing skills were highly impressive and attention-seeking. One day, Director Samudrakani gave her a chance in the film "Naadodigal" after appreciating her photo session and her dancing skills. Being highly determined and hopeful Abhinaya stunned everyone with her amazing acting skills even though her voice was being dubbed. Eventually, at the age of 17 she entered into the film industry making her acting debut in Naadodigal (2009), a Malayalam movie and went on to reprise the role in its Telugu and Kannada remakes. She also enacted in Easan, 7aam Arivu, Dammu, Dhamarukam, Genius, Krishnudu, Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Veeram, Poojai and also made her Bollywood debut in R. Balki's Shamitabh in a short role. Her upcoming projects include Vizhithiru, Chandrudu and Bangalore 79.
