About Me

Hansika Motwani was born on 9 August 1991, in Mumbai. Her father Pradeep Motwani is a businessman and mother Mona Motwani, a dermatologist. She has a brother Prashant Motwani. She is Buddhist and her mother tongue is Sindhi. She studied at Podar Internation School. Her parents divorced during 2004, while she continues to live in Andheri, Bombay, India, with her mom.

Hansika began her career as a child artist in television serial called Shaka Laka Boom Boom. Later on, she acted in the Indian serial Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand for that she received the Favorite Child Award at the Star Parivaar Awards. And then, in 2007 she made her film debut in the Telugu film Desamuduru as a leading actress. She signed in high budget Telugu films which includes Kantri and Maska. She entered into Tamil industry in the year 2011 through Mapillai film and then appeared in several successful commercial films that encompass Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, Maan karate, Velayutham, a blockbuster film as a village belle. In 2013, she appeared in four consecutive Tamil films, Settai, opposite Arya, Sundar C.'s Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru, opposite Siddharth, Hari's Singam II starring Suriya and Venkat Prabhu's Biriyani with Karthi. She had five releases in 2014, two of them being Telugu films, the comedy flick Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda and the action-masala Power. In 2015, her third collaboration with Sundar C, an Ambalai film released. Her upcoming movies have been Manithan, Uyire Uyire, Vetai Mannan, Bogan, durga (Telugu).

She also involved in several philanthropic activities by providing financial support for underprivileged students, in addition to, bestowed a medical needs 10 women who are affected with breast cancer. She is the Ambassador of “Chennai turns Pink,” to create awareness about breast cancer among urban women.
