About Me

Khushboo was born in a Punjabi Muslim family, she has three brothers. She had her primary education in Swami Muktananda High School located in Andheri area. She is a high school drop-out; she couldn't study after 8th standard since she became busy with films by then. Kushboo learned classical dance. She started her career in the early 1980s as a child artist. Her first film appearance was in Raja Nanna Raja a Kannada film in 1976. She had her first credited role in the 1981 film Laawaris, and Dard ka Rishta (1982).  Between 1981 to1985, as a child artist she did Aapas Ki Baat, Bemisal, Jaanoo, Patton Ki Bazi and Tan-Badan. Since then, she has acted in over 100 films, some opposite leading actors such as Ananth Nag, Kamal Hassan,  Vishnuvardhan,  Rajnikanth,  Ambareesh,  Venkatesh,  Tiger Prabhakar, Nagarjuna, Ravichandran, Mammootty,  Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Sathyaraj, and Prabhu. She married actor/ director Sundar C on 9 March 2000. They have two daughters, Avanthika and Ananditha, after whom they named their production house. She has lived in Chennai for 20 years.  She also as a producer for the films Giri, Rendu, Nagaram Marupakkam, Kalakalappu, Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru and Aranmanai 2, in which most of the films were sleeper hit at the box office. She anchoring many TV shows and as a judge in reality shows. Her upcoming movies are Sankarapuram, Kadhal Mudichu. Khusboo made her announcement in April 2010 that she would be entering politics soon before the 2011 assembly elections and later joined the DMK, by signing her membership form at the party headquarters in Chennai. She quit DMK on 16 June 2014.  Then she joined Indian National Congress on 26 November 2014 after meeting with Congress President, Sonia Gandhi.
