About Me

Tamannaah was born to Santhosh Bhatia and Rajani Bhatia. She has a brother, Anand Bhatia and at the age of 13, she started acting. Her father is a diamond merchant. She is of Sindhi descent. She did her schooling in Maneckji Cooper Educational Trust School, Juhu, Mumbai.

She is a south Indian model as well as actress, who started her film career through her debut film in Hindi called Chand Sa Roshan Chehra. Before entering into the film industry, she performs many advertisements in Tamil for big companies such as Shakti Masala, Saravana Stores, RMKV and she also did few music albums. She entered into the Telugu film via Sri. Her debut in Tamil industry through Kedi film did not do well at the box office. After the movie “Kallori,” even it was average at the box office, her performance appreciated by the audience. The commercial success of Happy Days and Kalloori established her career as an actress in both Telugu and Tamil films. Her blockbuster films include Ayan, Paiyaa, Siruthai whereas in Telugu, it encompass 100% Love, Racha, Cameramam Ganga Tho Rambabu, Thadaka, Aagadu, Bengal Tiger and Bahubali: The Beginning. The consecutive hits made her to reach a high level in South film industry.  Her upcoming movies are Thozha, Oopiri, Dharma durai, Kaathu karuppu, Merisal, Baahubali: The Conclusion, Yen Endru Kadhal Enben.

Tamannaah endoeses popular brands like Celkon Mobiles, Fanta and Chandrika Ayurvedic soap. She performed in various Tamil advertisements like Shakthi Masala, Power Soap, PETA and Sun Direct. She also worked with Virat Kohli for an ad shoot of Celkon Mobile. She is also the brand ambassador of the Salem based jewelry shop AVR,  Khazana Jewellery, Zee Telugu and  Government of India's campaign Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, an initiative of FOGSI.
