Prabhu Deva was born on 3 April 1973. His father name is Mugur Sunder; he is also a south Indian choreographer. His mother name Mahadevamma and there are two brother. His wife name is Ramlath and they had three sons and his eldest son Basavaraju and Vishal died of cancer in 2008. He has moved to Mumbai and is residing at Boney Kapoor's old place called Green Acres. His mother Mahadevamma is from the village of Doora, about 17 kilometres (11 mi) from Mysore. He owns property in Doora, and has developed a farm there. Prabhu Deva has worked as a background dancer for a song in the Tamil film Agni Natchathiram. His first movie as a choreographer was Vetri Vizha. Apart from choreography, he also tried his hand in acting. His first role as a hero was in Indhu (1994) with actress Roja. Prabhu has also acted with his brothers in the movie 123. In 2010, he has served as chairman and director of a dance academy in Singapore named Prabhudeva Dance Academy. He has also played the lead role in ABCD (Any Body Can Dance), the first 3D dance film in India. He has garnered two National Film Awards for Best Choreography.
