Raghav Lawrence also directed several Telugu films such as Mass, Style and Don. Lawrence is moreover known for his intricate hip-hop and westernized dance moves. He was born on 9th January 1971 as Raghav Murugaiyan in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. He was a Christian who was converted to Hinduism. He suffered due to brain tumor in his childhood days and had to struggle to get out of it and this made him to help the needy people. To extend his helping hand, he founded a charitable trust called Lawrence Charitable Trust and he also runs a home for physically disabled. He is married and has a child. His mother tongue is Tamil. Rajinikanth encouraged him to come to film industry and he started his career as a dancer. Initially he worked with Shiva Shankar and Prabhu Deva. Some of the films that he has worked as a choreographer include Master, Amarkalam, Annayya, Mrigaraju, Hanuman Junction, Baba, Indra, Simhadri, Tagore, Satyam, Varsham, Ashok, Adavi Ramudu, Mass, Chatrapati, Jai Chiranjeeva, Style, Stalin, Muni, Sivaji: The Boss, Chirutha, etc.
He did many social service activities in which he has aided many heart surgeries for babies. In 2015, after the death of former Indian president A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Lawrence set up a charity trust in his name and donated 1 crore to it. Director K. Balachander invited him to act in his 100th film Parthale Paravasam. He got his breakthrough with the Muni film series.
