About Me

          He was born on 9th May 1955 in Athur in Mayavaram in India. His father was Desingu Udaiyar. His birth name was Thesingu Rajendar. He married the former actress Usha Rajendar on 16th September 1982 and has three children, Silambarasan, Kuralarasan and Ilakkiya. His elder son Silambarasan is acting in lead roles in Tamil films. His wife has produced many films including Kadhal Azhivathillai. Not only that he concentrates in film industry but also he is a politician. He has produced a number of films and has participated in many television reality shows. 
          He attracts the audience by his unique style of speaking and acting. He is notable for his sign language and body language.He is highly sentimental that he names most of his films with nine letters in Tamil.He is a former member of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and later started his own party Thayaga Marumalarchi Kazhagam in 1991. This was not very successful that he renamed it in 2004 as All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.He started a television channel called Kural TV and also is distributing films under the banner of Kural TV Creations. He is hosting the reality show Arattai Arangam in Sun TV and Pogo Live! on Pogo.
          Some of the films that he has acted include Oru Thalai Kaadhal, Veerasamy, Vallavan, Kaadhal Azhivathillai, Sonnaal Thaan Kaadhala, Rail Payanangalil, Mythili Ennai Kaathali, Raagam Thedum Pallavi, Shanthi En Shanthi, etc. Some of the films that he has directed are Oru Vasantha Geetham, Thai Thangai Paasam, Enga Veettu Velan, Samsara Sangeetham, En Thangai Kalyani, Oru Thayin Sabhatham, Uyirullavarai Usha, Nenjil Oru Raagam, Vasatha Azhapugal, Thangaikkor Geetham, etc.He composed music for the films Sabash Badu, Petradutha Pillai, Coolikaran, Ivargal Varungala Thoongal, Pooppoova Poothirukku, Pookkal Vidum Thoodhu, Ayisu Nooru, Mythili Ennai Kaadhali, Enga Veettu Velan, Kilinjalkal, Oruthalai Raagam, Iravai Kaatha Kili, Pookkalai Parikkaathe, etc.
