Baba Sehgal is an Indian rapper, film composer, actor and playback singer, known for his works in Indipop, Telugu cinema, Bollywood and Tamil cinema. He began his career in the mid-1990s. Baba Sehgal is an Electrical Engineer from Pantnagar University. He is credited as the first Indian rapper to jump on the Indipop bandwagon, and released an album which got frequent airplay on MTV India. He released his latest single Going to the gym,which collectively gathered more than 1 lakh views followed by another funny investment single Mere paas hai mutual fund which did not garner similar audience response. Sehgal's first album was Dilruba (1990) followed by Alibaba, Thanda Thanda Pani, Main Bhi Madonna, Double Gadbad and many more albums. He almost always writes, composes and sings the songs in his albums himself. He was the music director of the movie Dance Party in 1995. He has the distinction of having the first Indian music video ever to be shown on MTV Asia. He also directed the music for the Bollywood film Bhoot Uncle in 2006. In 1998, Sehgal made his acting debut in the Bollywood film Miss 420 alongside Sheeba. He also did playback singing for the film's soundtrack which was released in 1994, four years before the film's theatrical release. He acted in the film Double Gadbad playing a double role. He also composed and sang all the songs for the film's soundtrack. Sehgal also making his Telugu film debut in a Heroine centric magnum opus movie Rudhramadevi, Anushka Shetty in the lead. Baba Sehgal has been signed to play a major negative role in another Telugu film titled Overdose.
