About Me

        She was born in Trichy and later brought up in Chennai. Her first song "Kaananguruvi" was for the movie Aaha enna porutham, music given by Vidyasagar. Her first hit song was "Pottu thaakku" for the movie Kuthu. Her hit Tamil songs belong to the movies like Pattiyal, Thaamirabharani and Yaaradi Nee Mohini. Roshini along with her sister Anita performed the feat of 'singing non-stop for 37 hours', which was included in Guinness Book of world records. Now she is a popular name of Tamil film industry. She was born in Trichy to Dr. Joseph Kaliyaperumal and Lucy Joseph. Up to 9th standard, she studied at her hometown and later shifted to Chennai. She holds a B.Tech in Computer Science degree. She started learning Carnatic music while at school. While studying in class 3, she sang in hi-ranged voice through the krithi ‘Manasa Sancharare’ during the annual day. Vidyasagar who was the chief guest of the program came forward and booked her for a song in the movie ‘Aaha Enna Porutham.’ Her voice simply suits the child artists for playback singing. Then she became serious in learning Carnatic music and she started off with devotional songs. She sang numerous devotional songs before stepping in as playback singer.
