Shreya Ghoshal is an Indian playback singer, who is most popular in Hindi film industry. She also sings for other language movies like Telugu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, and Tamil. She first sang for the film "Devdas". Shreya Ghoshal was born on 12 March 1984 in Berhampore, West Bengal, India. Later shifted to Rawatbhata near Kota, Rajasthan. She has studied upto eighth in Atomic Energy Central School, Rawatbhata. Then shifted to Mumbai and continued her education at the same school but in Anushaktinagar. She joined the Atomic Energy Junior College to study science but discontinued and enrolled for arts with English at the SIES College at Sion, Mumbai. Just at the age of 6 years Shreya was trained in Hindustan Classical Gharana of music. She was trained in playback singing for about 18 months and then continued her classical music training in Mumbai. Shreya Ghoshal got married on 5 February 2015 to her long-time boyfriend, Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya in a traditional Bengali ceremony. He is the founder of hipcask.com. She caught the attention of film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali when she participated in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa for a second time, this time competing against adults. In 2000, He offered her the opportunity to be the voice of Paro, the lead female character of his film Devdas, who was to be portrayed by Aishwarya Rai. Shreya sang five songs in the film. She also appeared as a judge in the singing show Amul Star Voice Of India Chhote Ustaad. She also sang the title songs of many Indian Television serials. She is also comfortable singing sad songs or peppy songs. Apart from Devdas, she has done songs for Jism, Saaya, Inteha, Out of Control, Khakee.
