About Me

Vijay Antony is an Indian music composer, playback singer and actor working in the Tamil film industry. He studied in St.Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Palayamkottai,Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, India. He obtained a degree from the Trinity College, London and set up his own in-house studio called Audiophiles. Vijay Antony got married with  Fathima, TV anchor. He venture as a singer in “sathikadi” from Sukran movie. He has sung over 35 songs. He made his debut as a Music Director in the 2006 film Dishyum, directed by Sasi.  However, the soundtrack of the film Sukran, directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar, was released first and became his debut album. He also compose musics for Television Malargal, Kana Kaanum Kaalangal, Kadhalikka Neramillai,  Megala and Chinna Papa Periya Papa. In 2012, he made his acting debut, enacting the lead role in the thriller film Naan. He is the first music director to venture out as an actor. His next venture as an actor and music director was Salim, in which he portrayed the same character from Naan, both Naan and Salim were sleeper hits. India Pakistan, his next release, a romantic comedy, was the first film he starred in but did not compose music for. He has acted in Pichaikkaran, collaborating with his Dishyum director Sasi. Vijay Anthony has also given music to Kannada movie Budhivanta starring Upendra, which was actually a remake of Tamil film Naan Avanillai. He is the first Indian to win the 2009 Cannes Golden Lion for the Nakka Mukka commercial (for The Times of India) in the Best of Music category. Nakka Mukka raised his fame and that song was played in the 2011 Cricket World Cup. His upcoming movies are Saithan, Yeman, Nambiar, Hitler, Thirudan and  Naan 3.
